update

So I have a couple things that I want to post, so I'll get to it pretty soon. Also, I found out they have a Konad Cart in my local mall so I'm stoked about that! :D I was with someone so I didn't want to bore them with my nail polish obsession hahaha.
New stuff soon.

Christmas in...August?

Okay, so this isn't REALLY Christmas-y, but when I saw it, I either thought of St. Patties day or Christmas. BUT it's pretty for anytime. Inspiration for this? None really. I was originally wearing Essie's Pretty Edgy (love love) and decided I wanted to spunk it up a bit. Get ready for some glitter!

Products I used:
Essie - Pretty Edgy
Coastal Scents Hologram Glitter Powder in Jade Green
Sally Henson Xtreme Wear in "Invisible" (clear mixing medium, basically)
Flat paint brush
Orly Tough Cookie Base Coat
Seche Vite Top Coat

Inside (artificial light)
Sun
Truly, these pictures do not capture the complexity of this glitter. It's quite holographic and in different lights sparkles blues/aquas and sometimes gold.

Sorry for the tip wear in some pictures, I didn't take them all at the same time. I used 2 coats of top coat to make give them a nice and smooth finish. For the glitter, I used a palette and some clear nail polish and mixed it up to the consistency that I wanted and just kind of painted it on with a regular paint brush that I got at Michaels. I have several of these glitters so look out for more of these glittery mani's!

Haul(s) & Helmer

So I made a visit to Ikea yesterday and from what I've read on various blogs, a Helmer seems to be a favorite for storage. Originally I wanted a wall rack, but have since changed my mind. For now at least. It was super easy to put together, love Ikea!

I kept them in that little plastic thing before Helmer:

It worked, but I couldn't but a lid on it, and it was started to bust at the seems as my collection grew.

I kept the rest of my nail stuff in these:
I still love that caboodle!!

I'm not entirely sure these pictures are true to color or are seperated color-appropriate. Also, there's about 8 that I missed somehow.

Reds
I'm not much of a red-wearer, so most of these are colors that my mom purchased or that I wore during Christmas.

Orange & Yellow
Missing: Essie Haute as Hello, Essie Vermillionaire

Greens
Turquoises
Blues
Purples(ish)
Biggest part of my collection, ha.

Pinks
Pinks coming in a close second. Some of these probably belong under purple/reds. Missing: Essie Knockout Pout

Whites/Sheers
Insta-Dry in Whirlwind White is my only true white..the rest are very sheer, more used as overcoats. I used them a lot when I worked and couldn't have my nails painted.

Glitters!
Yay :D

Golds + Silver
That Sally Hansen Diamond one is more of a beige..but it's the only one.

Chromes
I don't like chromes very much because of the brush strokes...but I use them for konadding!

Missing: WnW Black Rage, Orly Goth (black w/ silver glitter)

..other?
a brown chrome-y color and a blue-ish grey.

It's actually full and spilled over a bit into another drawer! I don't know where my mind was when I was doing this...I had like 8 bottles sitting on my dresser that I forgot about until I had finished all of this.

Details or swatches about ANY of these colors..just ask!

I went to Sally's, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby about a week ago, and this is what I got:

Sally's
I finally got a pump for my acetone...sooo much better! Orly Velvet Rope, Orly Star Spangled, I think they were new colors. I didn't have a purple like that and couldn't pass it up. My mom picked out the red glitter. Favorite Cuticle Oil, avacado. French nail guides (way cheaper on ebay! D:) and a buffer.

Velvet Rope
I have this on my piggies right now stamp with Color Club's Worth the Risque. It's a pretty dark purple with silver glitters.

Star Spangled
Glittery true red.

Nina Ultra Pro Pucker Up
Neon Green w/ purple shimmer which does not come out in this picture!

I love the clearance rack (:
Michael's/Hobby Lobby Haul
Plastic palette, brush, and GLITTER! I got those glitters for some polish. So I did an experiment..top coat & dip vs. mix with clear polish:

Pink: dipped, purple: mixed with clear polilsh and painted on. Personally, dipping was easier, faster, and looks just as good. This picture is not true to color. But I think these would be a bit pretty mixed with some holo silver glitter.

Nothing to do with nails, but I hit up Kohls clearance rack and got all these babies for about $2.50 a piece! <3Kohls.

If you have questions about ANY thing posted here, including swatches or names, just ask! I'll be more than glad to give you that info!

Long post, so if you stuck around this long, thank you!! This will probably be my all-time longest post, so follow me!
Until next time,
xoxo,

Peachy Pinwheels

I'm not sure what inspired this. I wanted something pretty simple, and I wanted to use one of my new colors from the Essie Summer 2010 collection. I purchased Haute as Hello, Pretty Edgy, Knockout Pout, and Vermillion from eBay for about $14 + shipping (which was about $4-5). My main goal of this purchase was Pretty Edgy because I wanted a green creme, but when I saw the collection, I wanted more! I love Haute as Hello, it's kind of a coral-y/peach-y color.
In this konadicure I used:
Essie Haute as Hello
China Glaze TMI
IP: BM03 (the one w/ the lips)
Sally Hansen Double Duty Top and Base Coat as a base coat (currently looking for a new base coat)
Seche Vite Top Coat (currently needing a refill!)

Thanks for looking!
